About Patrick Lui
A notable performer, Patrick Lui is widely considered as one of the foremost American classical guitar educators. After many years of teaching in higher education, he has been the Director of Guitar Studies at Weaver Academy for Performing and Visual Arts since 2005. His students have won over three hundred prizes, including the Guitar Festival America - Youth Division, and most recently James Stroud Guitar Competition as semi-finalist. Many of his former students have found successes as performing artists, luthiers, a Grammy Award-winning music producer, and even an Olympian.
Patrick was a full scholarship student of the legendary guitar pedagogue Aaron Shearer. He was a teaching assistant for Professor Frank Koonce and an interim Instructor of Guitar at Arizona State University. Patrick has also studied with Wilson Nguyen, Susan McKeithen, Larry Almeida.
